Advancing supportive and integrative oncology in cancer care: global strategies and perspectives
Integrative oncology is a holistic approach that combines conventional medicine with evidence-based complementary therapies to enhance the quality of life and well-being of cancer patients. It focuses on treating the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – recognising that cancer affects all aspects of an individual’s life and requires a multidimensional treatment plan. The importance of this approach lies in its ability to complement traditional treatments, addressing gaps in care that may not be covered by conventional medicine alone.
